Prince (of Persia) has come to stay at Latimers and it has heralded a period of adjustment for all of us. Prince is a Silky Terrier - very cute, but not quite socialised when it comes to furries - but he's getting the hang of it. It has to be hard for him being away from his humans, and in a strange place but M is doing her best to help him feel as comfortable as he can ... she has a way of doing that for pets and people.
Poor S is not terribly well - she has managed to catch the lurgy that's going around (possibly from N and S at Trivia last week) and while I was down for a day with something, I have been lucky enough to be back on deck after only a day in bed. But it's not good for S and I'm concerned that it may go to her chest (she's never been good with respiratory "stuff"). I'd like her to go to the doctor with it, just in case there is something else happening, but she's fairly confident that it is under control. It's just difficult to hear her in distress.
It's still a bit chilly here in the mornings and there was an incredible mist in the valley today (partly smoke haze, partly fog) and against the backdrop of the pink of the dawn sky it was pretty amazing. As I drove in, I just hoped M who was setting out for a walk with Prince and Pearl as I was driving out the front gate, was awake enough to appreciate it. I know that Tink wasn't - she spent the morning standing in front of cupboards and when I opened them she would have a look inside, a bit of a sniff around, and then move on. In the end I found her one with some space and let her get in there ... and although she didn't stay too long, she did seem to be less restless when she emerged.
