Weekend at Jupiters

What a fabulous weekend we've had ... (thanks to M) S and I had a night in at Jupiters, which has now stretched to two as she is at home doing furries patrol. It's funny but even though we have only been here for just under 30 hours now, it seems like a very, very long time indeed. I guess because we actually started before yesterday afternoon, with breakfast in at Koi (at Broadbeach) with F and M. As we sat there, M said "look, there's a chicken" and we all looked - and yes, it was, a very large chicken, which turned out to be a "Bride to Be" (according to her sash) out on her Hen's Party (don't mind me, it only took me until today to put that together) ... so it was someone else - that would be S - who commented that it looked as though F was "picking up chicks". Of course, that photo had to go on FaceBook, together with that comment, so Mi would see how much F is really and truly missing her.

Dinner last night was in the room, because that's where they serve the Nasi Goreng - and it is a truly amazing dish. Yes, they do do it downstairs in Spinners, but it doesn't look anything like it when they serve it down there. S had that while I had the Soup of the Day (Chinese Chicken and Corn) - and M, who had arrived to visit just after we'd ordered - had naught save for a cup of tea before she and I went off to the gaming floor to have a game of CSP (now up to $163k) and Roulette. Great fun! S is still not well and elected to stay in-room and rest ... and it worked because she was feeling a bit better today - and to come to the Markets.

There's no doubt that M was up much earlier than us today; I had the call with Tr on Skype but didn't get up until well after 7, by which time M had already picked up F for their trip to Brisbane Airport to collect Mouse on her return from Turkey! They brought her straight to the Markets. It's great to have her back - and she seems happy to be back as well. N and one of her friends came to the Markets as well, so even though M and A are away, and Mi, we were still a respectable number - and as homage to the Indian Spring we're having today, we sat outside, some of us in shade, the others basking in the sunshine! It doesn't get much better than this!

Then, after M dropped Mouse home and settled her in for the afternoon, it was off to Bumbles for lunch (and a walk along the river for me - as I strive to get those 10,000 steps a day).

Yes, it has been a fantastic weekend (starting with the Mahler on Friday night) and I feel as though I'll have to go back to work for a bit of a rest now - and get back out to Latimers so I can take Prince and Pearl for a walk with me (it's much more fun with company!).
