Tuesday

We were overrun with cockatoos this morning - they raided the Avocado tree first - one flying off with an avocado in its claws when they were disturbed. But they were seen back - this time at the Lemon tree. It was amazing to see them at work - one picked the fruit, balancing on a branch and not stepping on the thorns, dropping it to the ground for the others or eating one itself. They stayed for a good while - until some noise from inside the house spooked them and they flew off. It was bound to happen sooner or later but it was good to have had the opportunity to take some photographs of them. The cockatoos make a change from the Crows that have been hanging around in the mornings.

M managed to get most of the yard mowed before the rain started today - I think she was a bit disappointed that she didn't get it all done but I think even she realized it was a pretty big ask that the looming rain clouds wouldn't open and send down at least a bit of rain!

Mi rang this afternoon to see how it was going and to let us know that Insight tonight is about wildlife and the threat that feral cats present. I said I would definitely let M and S know.
