Just for a change, I went to Maccas this afternoon (instead of Zarraffas) and was amazed to find it was under renovation with half of the building boarded up ... but it was still very much open for business. They say a change is as good as a holiday and it certainly did feel different - especially with what seemed to be very seemed different clientele. I didn't stay long though because there was mowing to be done. Or there would have been if the belt hadn't come off ROM while M was using it earlier.
It was a big yard day as Doug was here slashing the bottom paddock as well - and M was reportedly pulling fallen branches out of the way. I think there was also some burr pulling or was it that Pearl, while she was helping, had stood on burrs. Poor Pearl. Especially as she now appears to be limping. I've checked her for a tick (not sure if she was down in the long grass where the ticks live but it's best to check) but can't find one so we'll keep a close eye on her. Talking to M though it looks as though Pearl may have just done too much "helping" - dragging those branches and that makes sense because she would be using her back legs for traction and strength.
S received a message on FB today saying that N will be back up this way on the weekend - I think she mentioned she has a job interview - and it would certainly be good to have her back up this way rather than based on Canberra - as long as she can find the right role for the next step in her career. Anyway, we will be able to quiz her about that when she comes to the Markets on Sunday. (Well, I was close - seems it's actually next weekend.)
It was a bit odd not going out to dinner this evening and a couple of times I wondered how Trivia was going up at the local - of course, we don't play but it's always good to take the mind for a work-out!
