Thursday

It's still cold here but it looks as though it may be even colder in Russia when Mouse and M get there next week. But first we have to send them off and Mi has organised a Family N Friends Dinner at The Sheraton Hotel at The Spit this evening. This is the first time we've been there since they've refurbished and while the decor and food were great, the service left a great deal to be desired. Of course, we could have looked upon that a little more kindly if they had managed to keep the fountain (in the water feature a few metres from us) on silent for a little more of the evening. But on the whole it was a good evening.

M is still making her way through her list of jobs so she and Mouse will be ready to leave on Saturday. Mind you, they have managed a lot so far - M's passport, the Russian visas, the interviews with the Russian's television crew, the present buying (making sure they had purchased just the right gifts), and the packing - to name just some of their accomplishments to date.

S and I have a feeling that Pearl knows that M is about to leave for overseas. It might have something to do with the packing of suitcases into the wee small hours of the morning. I'm not sure what the latest it's been that I've heard the rustling of plastic from M's room - but at least she has finished packing now - and she's weighed her bag and it comes in at 5kg under! She is ecstatic!
