It was another fine day here at Latimers and I took the opportunity to be up and out and about ... and call in to the Post Office to finally send off the parcel for Sy. The folk at the Post Office were very helpful, weighing the pipe for me and suggesting I wrap it in bubbles so it didn't puncture the plastic envelope. It was just as well I had checked the boot yesterday ... I had completely forgotten I had promised to send it off for her.

Friday is washing day ... but it also looked like rain. Certainly there were no great tracts of sunshine to sit in but at least the rain did hold out so S could do the sheet and towels and get them dry.
There's a bird sitting in the nest! And another bird visiting it - probably to bring it snakes (or maybe that should be "snacks")! There has been masses of bird life around Latimers over the last few days. On the way out this morning, the birds lifted off the laneway as I approached. There were a couple of hardier ones who only stepped out of the way when I was almost on top of them! Crows, starlings, egrets... there were loads of them.
And some of them could have been showering in the grey water gushing out of the outlet near Hermes' paddock. It looks as though the pipe, brittle from being in the sun, has given way. M is going to put a call in to Mark the Plumber and hopefully he will be able to come tomorrow to have a look, and fix it.
Tonight was the Jazz with the Stars Concert at Jupiter. It was absolutely wonderful and I would go so far as to say that it was better than last year's. The line up: James Morrison, Emma Pask, Darren Percival and Grace Knight. They were all wonderful ... and each gave the audience a chance to participate. They all had exceptional patter too. An added bonus was that M was on the list to do a "meet and greet" with the performers, and we were able to have a photo taken with them. It doesn't get much better than this.
