Thursday and The Big House

S and I had a different start to the morning as we spent last night at The Big House. Neither of us had slept perfectly well ... that whole "first night in a different bed" had overtaken us, and despite having scoffed down some of S's painkillers for my back, they had not resolved the problem. But this wasn't going to keep us from our breakfast. As the Executive Level Lounge was closed for renovations this morning we were redirected to the Food Fantasy for a Buffet Breakfast instead. Mmmm ... what a wonderful way to start a Thursday (thanks again M!) ... and even though we didn't eat that much, it was fantastic to have a choice of so many things. I had a freshly-cooked omelette and fruit - both wonderful. S had a more traditional hot breakfast and was kind enough to help me finish the fruit.

Then, it was back to bed for S while I took myself to Spinners to do some "stuff" while I had a nice hot coffee (or maybe two) and wait for the call to say S was up ... and she did manage to catch up on some of last night's sleep ... although I think she would have had an even better nap if she'd had Tinka on the bed with her!

M phoned half a minute after S to say she was in Broadbeach and asking for some help to scan some documents before sending them on to Turkey. Even though it was being done on a different set of equipment (the computers on the Executive Level), thanks to some timely intervention by the Receptionist, it was a relatively pain-free procedure - except for my back which wasn't. M suggested quite sensibly that I have a massage or go to a physiotherapist but by that stage I just wanted to get home, have the drive home behind me, and pop some of my industrial-strength painkillers - which have always fixed the problem before. Well, there's always a first time for them not working terribly well - and when they didn't work. I resorted to the massage machine which did provide some relief - heat, vibration and targeted kneading - no doubt helped by the residual painkiller effect. (Why is it that Pisces can be so stubborn, resisting help when it's offered? When I get that sorted out, I think I'll be on track for an easier life!)

Tonight, M and Mouse and Az - M had managed to get an extra ticket - were off to the Opening Night of the new show at The Big House - LumiAir. We'd seen some of the performers at various time at the Casino, but this time they managed to get up close and personal ... as shown in Az's photos here.
