Monday

We awoke to a gentle rain falling on Latimers which turned into a downpour by the time I was ready to leave for work. It's good to see the rain - we can always use some more water in the tank!

But it did fine up - and fined up convincingly so I was not surprised to find that M and little H had taken themselves off to MovieWorld for the day. H went on the rides - and was saving the shows until we could go along as well!

MasterChef only finished last night and already S is missing it. We did get used to having it with our evening meal and now that it is over for the season, we will need to find something else of interest. But it was good while it was lasted (and so much better because the result was as it was).

I almost did ROM this afternoon but decided to finish watching a movie instead. It was a big weekend and even though I had a relatively early night last night, I was still just a little on the tired side this morning. The lawns can wait until tomorrow - especially since it appears that the frosts are now over for the year.

I don't know if it would have been more or less alarming if I had been mowing when S called me out the front - to see there was a fire in the long grass just outside L's end paddock - literally just across the road from the front fence. (Had anyone else noticed that the number had fallen off the fence?)

The smoke was so thick that you couldn't see Larry and in the moments before Larry said he was there and had water - S and I were already unwinding the hose reel in case he wasn't there. Full marks to S for thinking to get a longer hose when they got the new hose reel - because it would have reached. She said she thought it was important should there ever be a fire at the Latimers house - because a short hose would never reach.

H and Me are staying in at The Big House tonight and word is that little H didn't get to wear the hotel robe - but he did get a JP Collectible Doll - or was that the phone taking liberties again and it was a Harry Potter Doll rather than one dressed like a Justice of the Peace and carrying a bag of little rubber stamps?
