Saturday - on the road again

M went off to the Spit this morning while we packed and set off on the drive to Toowoomba. The visit was to see Te and Dr before they move up to the Sunshine Coast at the end of the month. This will be their first move away from Toowoomba and since they will be taking their kids with them, this was our last chance to play with them for a while. Mi wasn't slow in bringing out her new favourite tool - a basketball - flat, but still playable ... just. For a three-year-old she isn't bad at catching - and she has a very good throwing arm. At one stage Mi threw and luckily I intercepted it before it could get through and hit S who was watching the game from behind me.

In the Mist

The drive up to Toowoomba was interesting, especially when we drove in to the fog ... reminiscent of Stephen King's "The Mist" which gave me a chance to talk about the ending (again) with S. She was kind enough to listen to it (again) - although she did remind me that she had watched the movie with me the first time I saw it.

We and Ma had everyone over for a barbecue this evening - which was wonderful, especially since they also had the fireplace on ... warm and toasty in Toowoomba. We followed up dinner with a viewing of Arnie's latest offering "The Last Stand" which was very violent, totally unrealistic, but great escapism.

Meanwhile, back at Latimers, Tinka checked out our room and then, not finding us there, moved herself back into M's room ... but it was nice to have Tinka in with me last night.

ROM'd lawn

Ja was due to come today but we'll have to wait until we get home to find out if the rain managed to hold off, and if she did come and start doing the Latimers horticultural overhaul.

The new-look Gardens

Update: Ja did indeed come and did the two front gardens; and M taking advantage of a break in the weather, jumped on ROM for a run around the yard - unfortunately without the mulcher on .... but it's good she was able to get the mowing done at all!
