Family & Friends dinner was at Olga's tonight and The Great K came as well. He has been extremely busy with his studies (I guess they expect a lot from you when you're doing a Masters) and he does seem a bit under pressure. When talking with him, it seems they are absolutely bogged down with reading for each of their courses and he is talking again about the possibility of doing a speed reading course (although I don't think that's what he called it).
Everyone was in fine form at dinner - except for Olga who was a little quiet because she is feeling unwell. Hopefully the cold and flu tablets M got for her will help - and since the visitors are off to Sydney for a few days it will give her a chance to put her feet up for a while. Mouse is just so energetic and "with it" that I think we sometimes forget that she is 85!
We had fun with little H this afternoon - we arrived at dinner before he did and set up an ambush to shoot him with the nerf gun when he walked in. They are amazing things - this one has a magazine of cartridges and works like a machine gun and while I am opposed to guns on principle, this one is actually great fun! Now, if only we had another one ... and another one ... wouldn't the nerf gun makers be happy?
While little H was off playing with Uncle F and the boys this afternoon, the girls took themselves off to see "Larry Crowne", the romcom starring Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts that we saw at Movie Night at The Big House a couple of weeks ago. M said it was just as funny in the second viewing - which is good; I still can't understand why it received only lukewarm reviews. And despite best intentions, we still haven't made it to see Transformers 3 or Harry Potter (the final chapter - can a movie be a final chapter?).
I think Pearl was really not pleased not to be coming to Nana's tonight but with The Great K in the car as well, there just wasn't room for her. Hopefully we will get to spend some quality time with Pearl on the weekend so she knows how truly cared for she is ... although M bringing home fillet steak from her lunch in at The Big House the other day for her should have been a pretty good indicator!
