D's betrothed is supposed to arrive this evening and he is very excited at the prospect of having her in the same country. It has taken years for them to get the necessary papers for her to come here from Russia. Hopefully she will like it here in Advancetown (even though D has moved from Latimers, he's still in the general vicinity which is good because he's still doing the slashing here) until they decide where it is they are going to live.
Sweetie, the foal, and her mother are still together but the "box" that will be Lacey's temporary home en route to her new owners in Singapore is ready. Lacey has done such a good job of bringing up the foal and it has been a pleasure to watch them - the days when the foal would be tired and lying in the grass sleeping with her her mother watching over her; or the times when the foal would be testing herself and moving further away from her mother, and then hurrying back over to be with her; or the times when both of them run along the fence line to keep up with people passing by.
It's still dark in the mornings when I leave Latimers for work - but it's not quite as cold in the mornings.
M has been spending a bit of time away over the last few days - taking young H to different activities. I think it was surfing today and it will be skateboarding tomorrow. Alas he wasn't as successful (straight off the bat - to mix metaphors) at his first go of surfing as he thought he would be. But he'll have another go at it on Thursday and hopefully he will be a little better at it. But at least he's getting to do a lot of things while he's here - including jet=skiing with E and the boys the other afternoon.
We tried to go into early lock-down this evening - after last night's late night, I needed to have an early one tonight otherwise I will just be ruined for work in the morning and since this is Cost Report week, I cannot afford not to be on top of my game.
I don't think S is going to Bingo tomorrow - since M is taking H to skateboarding.
