What a busy day - and that's not even counting the time I spent at work. By the time I arrived home, S was finishing off a mountain-load of washing and M was just finishing off the mowing (and air-blowing down ROM). After helping S with the folding of the sheets - including a fitted sheet - technique known thanks to Martha Stewart - it was on to the avocado tree to gather more produce - to add to the fruits of the farm that M had already collected including a couple of hands of bananas, a (single) fruit starting with "t" which I can't remember whether it is a tamarillo or a tangello, a lemon and loads of those avocados. It's odd to find them on the tree rather than half-eaten under the tree - or just the seeds hidden secreted somewhere in the house for Kathy to find.
We took the bounty around the front to perch it in the garden in front of S's burgeoning spinach - to take a photograph or two - and it did indeed look like a fantastic harvest.
Then, just before we were to go off to The Big House to see the new Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts film ("Larry Crowne") - we noticed that the water pressure was down. So down in fact that a check of the tank showed that it was empty. We are out of water! Thankfully Allen had had a look at the bore water pump and that seems to be working - so there will be water - as long as the pump doesn't cut out - until a load of water can be delivered tomorrow. The odd thing is that it did seem to rain a bit over the last week so it did seem strange to M (who is more in touch with these things) that the tank had run dry.
But at least there was the movies (although they are still giving out chips rather than popcorn) - and it was good - a very nice, funny RomCom - much better than the reviews had suggested it would be. Then, S was happy to have her first Christmas in July dinner at The Big House - and we do suspect that it will be the first of many! It was, by her account, very tasty except for the accompanying glass of wine.
S made it to the dentist for a follow-up visit and she is healing nicely. I had a call from my dentist as well and I was able to tell them that I was okay as well,
MasterChef - Billie was eliminated but the trailer suggests Matt Preston is visiting the MasterChef house on Wednesday and he does not look happy. He appears to sit the contestants down and starts talking but we will have to wait until Wednesday to find out if it is about Mat and the alleged bending of the rules. (Do Gen Y's see this stuff - rules etc - as guidelines and/or unimportant?)
Today was 4/7/11 which sounds more like a fragrance than a date.
