S eschewed Bingo today, preferring instead to stay at Latimers and do ironing in the room as she waited for M and the kids to come and collect her. She will be returning with them to Kyogle for a couple of days of R and R since the kids are on school holidays.
I had been talking to her by phone as I neared Latimers on the drive home from work - but by the time I arrived home, they had already gone - leaving instead a pair of boots in a plastic bag on the floor near the pet water bowl in the kitchen, and some tins of cat food and a box of cat cookies on the kitchen island.
So, with the house to myself - except for the furies (a rare occurrence) I settled in to watch some afternoon television with Beasley. I've missed my special time with him - for the last while, for some reason, we haven't been doing our Friday night television watching. He and I have seen some good horror movies together.
M arrived home in time to wash out some nighties for M, freshen up, and then we were off to The Big House where she had a "fastest finger" draw at 7:20. "Fastest finger" (not it's real name) is where patrons sit at a line of 12 poker machines, all the same, and, starting with 10,000 credits, see who has the most credits at the end of 3 minutes play. All the machines are enabled as is the feature - and its hard to tell whether the feature helps or hinders, because it does seem to take a little time to engage - and that's even if you do know how it works. M won her heat. Unfortunately she also had to place well in the sem-final to make it into the grand final (they don't believe in stringing it out - and keeping people in the vicinity of The Big House!!) but the same machine didn't perform as well that time.
The CSP jackpot is up again - even though someone had won 10% in the last few days. He apparently then stayed to play, and play, and play but couldn't replicate the win - and the big one hasn't gone off. And neither did it go home with M (I didn't play tonight).
