Wednesday

The rain continues although not quite as heavily this morning ... but enough that a few people at work were concerned about local flooding and whether everyone would be able to get past flood waters to get home this evening.  I must admit I was concerned enough to ring M and ask her if there was any possibility of being flooded out of Latimers ie not able to get back in – even though there are two ways in – one over the bridge and the other around the back way.  Apparently there won’t be a problem – which is good to know.  I wouldn’t want to be stranded away from home at the start of a four-day weekend!

S, M and Mouse managed to make it to Bingo today and while M had a couple of wins, the luck was not flowing to the others, nor to Daphne and her husband. “First timers, not even from here” said Daphne of the two women visiting from Melbourne who won the $200jackpot and then the $1,000 jackpot at the end of the day.  They, Daphne and her husband, are regulars there – going three times a week. Part of the rest of the time they spend knitting things including caps for premature babies.  Yes, time they had a win.

It was magazine time again today and I spent some time this afternoon working out the last of the puzzles Mouse hadn’t finished in the magazine, in time for it to be sent off.

The Great K almost came over for the evening and to stay the night.  He had called M on the mobile to say that he was seeing his first patient tomorrow and didn’t feel like being . He has his first session in the clinic tomorrow – seeing his first patient – but he’s the patient this afternoon – seeing the doctor about his back which is causing him some pain.

But what to do with The Great K coming over on CSP night?  We put it on hold – at least until we had had dinner and then we were going to decide what to do. S said she would be fine to stay home with D but that wouldn’t have been fair.  So we stayed in – and by the time we found out that the Great K was in fact not coming over, it was almost too late to go – so we didn’t.
