Saturday

We're off to Toowoomba today and we had planned to have breakfast with Sa at Crave on the way but she couldn't make it so we had breakfast with M and then made our way out the Smith Street Motorway, on to the M1, and on to Toowoomba.

We had lunch with the family, then set out to do some shopping (Ugg boots and shirts) before making our way out to see J's new house at Highfields. We had seen the house just after she bought it but since then she has had it painted and re-carpetted - and it looks great. I was stunned by the pinstripe (matching thr feature walls) around the top of the architrave. The house is a good size with four full-size bedrooms - quite surprising given it looks small from the outside. The yard is amazing too - half an acre and since we last saw it, J has put in gardens and tamed the lawn! It's big enough for a ride-on but I didn't see one there!

There were a couple of bikes - one for a boys, one for a girl - and I found myself wondering if today would be the day that I found out if it is true - you never forget how to ride a bike! (It wasn't.)

Wendy cooked dinner - beef stroganoff and roast vegetables - very yummy - and followed with a dessert of ice cream, jelly and peaches ... this may be the back to basics we were talking about at Crave breakfast this morning - the actual conversation had been about how complicated drink fridges in cafes have to been now ... not just soft drink, juice and water!
