Sunday

Mothers Day. It was good to be in Toowoomba to be able to celebrate with Mum. We had planned to catch up with some of Dad's family at morning tea - and that was good - E, D, and two of E's children (I still think of them as children - which they are - even though they are middle-aged now). D has been having some health issues and is due back to the doctor tomorrow to have a growth removed from his scalp - and they will graft skin from his forearm to the spot. It will all be done under local anaesthetic in the doctor's rooms - which shows how far medical procedures have come over the years. E and the others were questioning his decision to drive himself to and from the appointment, but he was not being dissuaded.

Meanwhile, back on the Gold Coast the usual crowd were meeting at the markets and celebrating Mothers Day there. Mi sent us an MMS so we would know what we were missing - she's good like that. They did look like they were having a fantastic time though and the locumas had made an appearance (thanks M for saving us some!)

It was a good visit to Toowoomba - especially since it is now only a couple of days until Mum has her appointment with the surgeon as they continue to work out why she has excruciating pain in her hip - especially as the MRI and other tests show no significant bone erosion. Unfortunately, the anti-inflammatories she has been using have been playing havoc with her stomach and she has discontinued them. Hopefully the doctor will be able to prescribe something else to relieve the pain.

The only disappointment of the visit was that the August Moon was closed on Sunday so there were none of their very yummy Spring Rolls this visit ... but there's always next time.

Back at Latimers, M had taken Mouse out for dinner to continue the Mothers Day celebrations so we settled in with Tink, Mag and Beaz for the evening.
