Agriculture ... and other things

The good news is that there are electronic devices out there that will remind you to do "things" - like watering the seedlings S planted before she left and which need to be given one watering can full of water each afternoon. The better news is that I have the "app" and have been using it! So fear not S, your plants are safe and wet and haven't yet been visited by Tinka who seems to prefer the indoor facilities rather than the great outdoors - and hopefully she won't see fit to make an exception!

The cockatoos have been back at the lemons again! There aren't that may left on the tree so they only managed to get three this time; I haven't yet been down to see how the grapefruit tree is faring. Hopefully it's been left untouched.

Pearl went to the vet with Tinka the other day and the encouraging news is that her weight is good - which we suspected as she is looking pretty fantastic at the moment and she is certainly moving a lot better! My Concern with her is that she's not as mindful as she used to be. If we're down the lane and I call her off the road because a car is coming, she doesn't do it straight away - and while none of the regulars is likely to power on before she gets out of the way, we don't know about any new visitors to the lane. The only good thing is that Tinka doesn't go out there (much) - because there's a cat who just will not get herself up and out of the way - thank goodness S was in the car and pointed Tinka out the other evening because I hadn't seen her; hmmm ... although I'd never put it to the test, I was on some level fairly confident Tinka would move out of harm's way ... I'm not so sure of that now!

I went for a walk around SeaWorld yesterday hoping/determined to get some nice photographs of the polar beans and the penguins. It was nice to be in the park while the crowds were not; there were still lots of folk there (with more than a few using their iPads as cameras!!) but not too many that you couldn't get up to the front at attractions and do that without getting jostled. It was a nice change - and one of the reasons I could spend quite a while at the penguin exhibit without feeling "crowded". Even though I hadn't planned to, I did spend most of the day at SeaWorld before making my way back out to Latimers. Rain, well showers, had been forecast for the Coast; I don't think Latimers had but there had been some wind strong enough to blow the clothes rack over! There must have been some rain at the Spit - Lars was wet when I came out of SeaWorld!

Tonight was CSP and judging by the alacrity with which we were "cleaned out" The Big House must have seen us coming. Ah well, better luck next time - and given the 10% has gone off three times in the last little while there is luck to be had! Dnner at Vivo was good - and S will like it too I think - especially if we go on one of the "meal deal" nights when there's the choice of one of 8 mains (from their usual menu) for $15 ... and when there are enough of us to do their garlic pizza justice!

Tinka, uncharacteristically, was around at dinner time today so she did get her shot this evening. When we arrived home, she had taken up her usual position right across the middle of the bed - she knows/suspects, though, that this luxury is about to come to an end with S's return from the Sunshine Coast tomorrow!!
