Welcome to Wednesday

At first I couldn't work out what all the barking was but then I realised, after I heard the whooshing of the gas burn, that it was a hot air balloon. I didn't have the real camera with me but I did manage to take a (fairly arty?) shot with the iPhone.

Welcome to Wednesday! Bingo Day! Well, it's actually Breakfast and Bingo Day for S and M although I did join them this morning at Ferry Road after I had already been to Zarraffas and bumped into An there. Her hand is bandaged up to her elbow to hold the splint in place after Monday's operation. She hasn't spoken with the doctor yet, and won't until next Monday so she's not quite sure what he ended up doing and what the prognosis is. She is having varying pain levels but she is being incredibly compliant including wearing the (dreaded) sling to keep her arm supported. But what she really wants is a knitting needle - something to do with being able to scratch under her cast/bandage.

Bingo was a bit of a disappointment today for most of us but at least An and Mouse had a win! They were the only ones to do so at our table today although M and Em did have "one off" a few times and when their PET machines beeped, it was very exciting - especially when I thought it was mine!

Lunch was at Daniel Stewart's again today - and, as usual, it was good ... very good. The Salt and Pepper Calamari was a favourite - Em and Mouse shared one and An had it as well. S had the Thai Beef which she said was very nice as welI - and it certainly did look it.

M gave An a left home after lunch and S and I fell back into the Southport RSL Club to see if we could win their Trivia Competition - they select players and ask them questions from Monday night's Trivia. If you get a question right, you win $40. It was worth a try, especially as we knew all the answers from Monday - it's just a pity we didn't know them on Monday! Alas, we had no more luck than we did then - well, not with the Trivia questions - our membership numbers just didn't come up; but we did okay on the poker machines.

Then it was home so S could have a quick rest before it was time for Aqua. She (and the stand-in instructor) is very pleased with her progress - which is fantastic!
