Friday and Mouse onions

"It's raining at Carrara!" said I, looking out the window as we readied ourselves for our late checkout from The Big House. S was not surprised because, as we learned soon after arriving on the Gold Coast, it is often raining at Carrara even if it's not raining anywhere else on the Coast.

After breakfast at Morning CheeseLand, S had a big nap to catch up on some of last night's sleep which eluded her then. I had one too but only for a hour of so before I took myself down to Spinners for a coffee and a "write".

Then we, after leaving The Big House, we had time to do a quick lap of Pacific Fair before we met the usual crowd (minus Mi) at The Coffee Club.

There was a bit of discussion about Ne who made the trip from London to Bosnia earlier this week for a funeral - but it wasn't straightforward - the trip that is. She drove herself from the airport to destination (rather than get a lift) and that was when the "fun" started ... with her phone going flat and her lost and driving at night in unknown territories. The scariest part was when she was being tailgated with someone flashing her with their lights. She had the presence of mind to pull into a petrol station ... and the car kept going - which is how the person who had come to escort her had to come back to get her ... it was him flashing her to get her attention. Ne has the best "adventures"!

We made it back to Latimers by mid-afternoon and had time to do some things before M arrived home and then we were all off to Mouse's for dinner. She had been waiting all week to host - after she found the key dinner ingredient - big white onions which she stuffed with mince. Yumm. The onions weren't the only things to come home with us; there was also some noodle soup - and rissoles which we're planning to have for dinner tomorrow night. (S and I went out last Saturday night so we won't be out on a Saturday night for a while again... and Mouse's leftovers are a great excuse to stay in.)

The Rock Stars are back at B's. They arrived on Wednesday in their big red truck. It looks like their transport has been spruced up or replaced with a higher, better model! The Dalmatian is still travelling with them though reported M who saw them all being spruced up the other day. We're not sure what gigs they're here for, but we hope they enjoy their stay as much as they usually do. And their humans too.
