S is back after a fantastic visit to the Sunshine Coast. They (she and Je) had a very successful time both professionally and socially. It was a good chance for them (they are cousins) to reconnect and it sounds like they did - as well as connecting with some other nice folk - Je's old Professor E and her husband. They have a house backing on to the National Park at Eumundi and it and the location were fantastic. E is for Newfoundland and said that while The Shipping News was a little over the top, there was some truth there as well. (It was a good book too, wasn't it?) S enjoyed working and talking with the Sunshine Coast folks - she finds them very informative and educational and they have some great stories to tell.
Je dropped S off at Maccas this afternoon. She was going to drop her out to Latimers but they were later than expected getting away from the Sunny Coast, and since Je still had an hour's drive home, I met them there to save Je the trip out and back in.
That was my second coffee shop for the day. I went into Broadbeach to meet Mouse and the others for coffee/lunch - including Mi and her sister R who is visiting from New Zealand. R is good fun and able to keep Mi on her toes - which is interesting to watch. R and her husband U may join the group at the Markets on Sunday although there is also a chance they'll be off on a day trip somewhere instead! We shall see.
S and I were off to dinner tonight but in the end, because S was starting to flag a little after her day (and week), we decided on takeaway and a night in instead. We started watching an episode of Midsomer Murders - which we will need to catch up on another time as we didn't quite finish it. Then it was early nights all around as S has decided she will take herself off to Deep Water Running with M in the morning.
