Thursday and horse eye colours!

Note to self: next time you want to sit and have a coffee and a catch-up with the mail, do not sit at the tables immediately next to the cinema. While the smell of hot buttered popcorn may be nice for a while - at some point it starts to make you feel hungry, then ravenous, and then, inexplicably, it becomes quite overpowering, and those hunger pangs turn to queasiness. This may be the reason cinemas started selling tickets on-line - to keep the length of, and time spent in, the ticket queue manageable.

It's raining still - so the tank should be full! There are puddles everywhere - and the cane toads have appeared again.

S was back over at Varsity Lakes today and she and Je took an early mark because they had a good day - and because the residents have a monthly birthday afternoon tea and today was the day for May - so at 3 o'clock Je and S called it. Luckily I was in the area early so S didn't have to hang around long waiting for her lift. Then we went off for a coffee and debrief before heading back to Latimers. I thought S would want to have a rest (she didn't have a great night again last night) but she settled in with the television instead to catch up with some programs (Clean Houses may have been one of them). Having finished my book, and unwilling to start another so quickly (I'm still thinking about Just Between Us), I started to watch a B Grade apocalypse movie but, at about the time that they had volcanoes starting to explode out of Mayan temples in South America while Stonehenge incinerated yet another person, I decided to have a nap instead.

Meanwhile, elsewhere on the Coast, M was taking Mouse out and about to Chirn Park (near Labrador) and checking out the local coffee shops! It's good they're always on the lookout for a new Saturday breakfast spot.

M and I went off to CSP tonight and I'd like to say we had some good luck at the table this time but luck was not on our side. I do admit though to having been more than a little excited when the first four cards of one hand I picked up were all Hearts and needed only an 8 of Hearts to go with them to make the 10% Straight Flush. The last card was a 9 of Spades - and the pair of 9s I then had was enough to beat the dealer but the SF would have been nicer! Ah we'll, there's always next week! But Dinner at Zen was good, although it did take a while for it to come. M thinks they forgot to put our order in again - it has happened once before - and it was great she thought to chase them up, otherwise we might still be there waiting ... waiting ... waiting.

Horses eyes are different colours! Amber, brown, green, blue black, hazel ... and there might have been another one. Blue eyes are most common in horses that have patches of white ... and often they will have one blue eye, and the other will be a different colour! Who knew!?

Congratulations to M who received word yesterday that she has officially been accepted to the new JPs in Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) program which is tasked with coming up with common sense solutions to minor civil disputes of less than $3,000. She has her orientation session tomorrow - which is amazing when you know she had her training late last year. The reason for the delay - the powers that be have been waiting on formal approval for the program!
