Welcome to Saturday

What better way to start the day then with breakfast at Daniel Stuart (I can't believe I've been getting it wrong all this time! It's Stuart not Stewart). It was good - the food was great - the only down side was that construction is still underway in the street outside and this morning they're pumping water out the pit. It's pretty noisy - and very annoying. But the meal, ambiance and company - and that the noise did stop from time to time - made it tolerable.

It was another glorious day here on the Coast and when we arrived home we sat out in the sunshine for a while - just soaking it up. Pearl joined us, and even take for a while - before they got too hot. They weren't the only ones who got hot - as we sat there (and I admit, yes, I did doze off, leaving the iPad in the sun) a message came on the iPad - a temperature alert - advising the iPad could not work until it had cooled down. Who knew?

We went over to Mi's this afternoon to drop off the noise-cancelling headphones for her to take with her. (Funny that I knew exactly where to find those but I still can't find my camera charger). There were other folk there as well - Mouse was there with pancakes and markets jam, Em was there helping out, Ba was out by the pool, M arrived just as we did, and Ma and Ro arrived a little while after us. It was a good catch-up and we will all miss her while she's away especially F who's pretending (as usual) that he won't. I wasn't that surprised when Eurovision made it into topics of conversation: Mouse had watched it; others had taped it.

As we left, Mi was getting ready to get changed and then they'd be off to the airport for her 9pm flight. She needs to get to the airport early because she hasn't yet had her seat allocated - the only ones left were aisle seats and she wasn't keen on one of those for the 14-hour flight to Dubai.

We met An and Sy for dinner at the Nerang RSL. An and S were keen to have the Lamb Cutlets special until they found out they had run out. So they had to change - but they weren't given the same option as M when she arrived a short time later ... lamb chops. The dinners weren't bad ... even though I think I made the wrong choice and was disappointed that the only green on my plate was the pumpkin skin - obviously there are currently no seasonal vegetables that are green.

Then, fuelled up, it was time to dance! It is very odd for S and I to be out on a Saturday night! We were glad we'd gone - it was a good night - much better than it has been on the other nights we've been to their dance. Unfortunately while we were off having fun, we weren't recording Death in Paradise (but it is available on ABC's iView) or Eurovision's Semi-Final 2. But the Finals are on tomorrow night so we'll see the best of 2 then!

The furries were inside and under lockdown by the time S and I arrived home ... and the sensor lights are still working... bonus!
