Happy Birthday Sy! We went out to dinner with Sy and An at Zen to celebrate. The "we" was Mouse, M, S and I. An chose the dishes - which seemed a good way for us to finally have something else - usually, if any of us order, we end up with exactly the same things - which we have to this point been able to justify as "non-boring" by assuring ourselves that it never comes out of the kitchen the same way twice! Sy proved a difficult person to buy a gift for but, as she told us at dinner, she had given it some thought. For her birthday Sy wants S to ... can you believe I've forgotten it ... oh wait, it was something about a tagine and cooking dinner for them ... and she'd like me to take the password off her computer. That is no doubt why I couldn't remember S's "gift" straight away, I was busy trying to remember which version of Windows Sy has - and how the admin rights differ between versions. (They are right!! I can only do one thing at a time.)
Tinka went back to the vet yesterday and her insulin has been adjusted again: "5.5 to 6" morning and night. As the syringes only have whole unit marks, it can be a bit challenging to get the dose exactly right - but M keeps trying. The next visit is in a month and, as always, It will be interesting to see if Tinka has stabilised by then. lt's been a while now since she was diagnosed and they seem no closer to an effective regime.
It rained a fair bit here today. M said she went out this morning to jump on ROM but she was too late - the rain had already arrived. But it was a good day for being inside - especially for Pearl who at one stage had put herself up on the couch next to S. And no, although anyone who knows S and Pearl would be right to suspect it, it wasn't around lunchtime!
I'm not sure if it's today or tomorrow but analogue television transmissions get switched off on the Gold Coast sometime soon: the tech from the ratings company offered to fix digital set top boxes in the house but M has decided that she may go down the new television (with built-in DVD) route instead. It isn't critical at the moment though because there's always iView for catch-ups for ABC programs or recording with the main TV which is digital, as well as being hooked up to cable.
