Monday

S and M went to Montville today as M had a funeral to attend; S went to keep her company and was able to have a walk around the village while she waited.

It's a couple of hours drive from Latimers to there so they weren't back by he time I left for Trivia at Southport RSL, thinking that one of us had to make an appearance. We could have done with S there though; if we had had one more point at the end of the game we would have come second outright, rather than having to go into a tiebreak with another team. The question: How many children was John F Kennedy one of? (That may not have been exactly how it was worded but that was the general gist. ) Our answer: 7. The answer by the other team - one member of which has just finished writing the definite John F Kennedy biography: 9. One of their team came over and apologised afterwards - but that's the luck of the draw. Next time it might be: how long was the Berlin Wall: 96 miles. So we came in third - which is a $ 15 voucher (next week's coffee fund) and an entry in the cash draw.

The rain was pouring down as I drove home (I was glad M and S were already there), and it was so heavy at one point I seriously considered pulling over - and would have it I had been sure it would stop soon.
