There's something about being near water and I was lucky enough to have a work team breakfast at the Southport Surf Lifesaving Club at Main Beach this morning. Before I turned up there, I took myself for a coffee at Surfers Paradise (they have free parking until 9 am) and then for a quick walk along the promenade to try out some new panorama software which seems to work well on vistas that aren't moving (eg the ocean) or maybe I don't know all the tricks yet! Breakfast, on the Club's balcony, was glorious! And a fantastic way to start the day... and I wasn't the only one who could easily have not gone back to work afterwards.
So, starting the day with breakfast at the beach - and ending it with Bingo (Southport RSL) and with a mall crawl through Australia Fair as well - it doesn't get much better! It was interesting doing evening Bingo - it has quite a different ambiance - and (the girls said it) seemed a fair bit more mercenary than the daytime version - which could have something to do with the prize money on offer: one jackpot is worth $1500. We didn't manage to have any "Winners are Grinners" in our crew but it's on again on Saturday morning if we're up for another game. We'll wait and see what happens.
It shouldn't have been but it was a fairly late night tonight - we were up keeping the Neilsen box company.
