M had company at Deep Water Running this morning ... no, don't be silly, not Sooz and I ... An joined her - as chauffered by Syl ... but we all did meet up at Marina Mirage for breakfast after their exercise session.
After breakfast, it was back to Sy and An's to go through some new (old) photos An has brought back from Palmers Island. There is a great selection - of her during her school years, and some more of her time in the Army. I'm going to have to recut the Army section but it will be much better with the new material!
M jumped onto ROM this afternoon and did a very good whip around the yard.
I managed to get out into the yard today as well - finally trimming the grape vines back in the hope that restricting them to two "shoots" will help it bear fruit ... that would be grapes.
This afternoon ... more "working on a project for a friend" - An's preso. I have made some good progress.
It was Date Night for Sooz and I this evening and we went to an Indian Restaurant in Nerang which had received rave reviews from Ni and St. When we arrived (yes, without a booking) the place was packed but we were given the option (which we took) of sitting outside on the verandah ... making for a much cooler evening. The waitress (who turned out to be Scottish rather than Irish as we had originally guessed) immediately told us that there was a longish wait because the kitchen was under some pressure. As it turned out, they were under a lot of pressure and it took nearly an hour and half for our meals to come after we had ordered. Mind you, it wasn't exactly what we ordered because by that stage they were running out of things (including samosas!!!). The reason, as she explained, was that the Manager had had staff call in sick that day - 3 or 4 in total - and he had had to spread his available staff over his two restaurants. The guys who arrived five minutes after us - who had eaten there before and said how good it usually was - suggested we had just come on the wrong night - and that we should come back another time when it was all operating properly. We will.
