Sunday

We met We and Ma for breakfast this morning at Metro - a nice little coffee shop and eatery across from the railway station in Toowoomba. The others had bacon and eggs but, having been meated up yesterday from the BBQ, I went for something lighter - toast and jam ... and they even did that well ... and coffee of course!

Then it was back to Mum's to pick her up and go out to Ju's. We were hoping to catch up with both Rh and Ki - but no luck this time. Da and Sa were home but they had both worked nights last night - so they were tucked up in their beds, hopefully fast asleep but the time we arrived at 10.30 or so. Wooza, Ju's dog, is still with us but his back legs are really starting to be a worry. Ju says that as soon as he is unable to stand, it will be time to take him to the vet ... and we were sure to say goodbye to Wooza this time in case he's not there the next time we go.

Lunch today was at Mum's and everyone brought something - our contribution was chicken - and, when Coles only had 1 half chicken and 1 quarter chicken - I made the executive decision that a few Wicked Wings as well would be in order ... and luckily it didn't take us long to find the local KFC. It wasn't exactly were I thought it would be, but it was in the vicinity.

Back on the Coast, the Markets went on without us ... which reminds me, we'll have to apply for leave passes for next weekend as well - since we have something else on. Hopefully Fl will be able to go so they don't have to elect a replacement to do the coffee runs. Va and Ne were down from Brisbane for the Markets today ... and I'm sorry we missed them because they're not there every week now that they've moved.

We missed the storm that went through the Coast this afternoon - it hit while M was at her JP meeting, and the noise from the rain - and hail - was so great they were hard pressed to hear each other. There seemed to be no damage out at Latimers - and even better, it didn't look as though much of the exposed road had washed away with the storm. It will be interesting to see if the hot mix placement will be delayed because of it though.

We were spectators to lightning over Brisbane as we drove back, and we were more than a little pleased that we didn't have to drive through the storm - although it would have been just a bit nicer in the car if the temperature had dropped a few degrees. The good news was that we had planned the drive back well because there wasn't that much traffic on the road!
