Saturday

Blingo

Saturday's finally here ... the day of the party! I had another look at the Blingo this morning, and I am happy with it. More than than, I am going to be more than comfortable wearing my t-shirt knowing that it meets the requirements for the party dress code: Gold Coast Bling ... which surely must be a combination of Bling and Bingo ... BLINGO!

Sooz had decided not to go to Deep Water Running with M this morning - and since M was breakfasting in Broadbeach (she had an errand to run afterwards), Sooz and I went off to breakfast at Luv-A-Coffee at Nerang. Little did I realise that Sooz had a secret mission in mind - Aldi had Manchester on sale - and she managed to bag a Queen Bed Sheet before we left the Centre.

Then it was back to Latimers - Sooz had a rest while I packed the camera bag, and the Bling Bag, making sure I had some "no damage" adhesives to put Blingo up in case Syl didn't.

We were in good time when we left home for the 1 o'clock start, but when we reached the big roundabout in Nerang, had to turn round because we couldn't remember if the fans had been turned off - it was a very hot morning! So, by the time we arrived, the party was in full swing!

And it was a great party! There was a chance for me to meet (for the first time and/or again) a lot of the people featured in the DVD (the project for a friend) and to marvel at how many wonderful people Syl and An know. People came from far afield - Melbourne, Canberra - even San Tiago in Chile - to help celebrate An's 60th birthday.

Tr had come through with the music and she and her friend (who are Blu Crush) were amazing ... there is nothing like live entertainment (unless it's Wayne the organist who played at our Family's reunion in Toowoomba some many years ago) and they kept the place pumping and jumping.
