Sunday 2 March

Autumn - Day Two - and yes, it was a little cooler and a little less humid for most of us - except M who had managed to unknowingly and accidentally turn her seat warmer in Syl and An's car on with her foot and was slowly cooking. Finally she asked if anyone else was hot - and if someone had turned on the seat warmer - and the answers were yes, and no but yes since she had. Once located, she quickly turned it off - and then concentrated on levitating from her seat to try to cool down.

Intermissiobn

This was about the stressiest it got on our trip to Brisbane to see “Blue is the Warmest Colour” - although I should be quoting the French title since it is a French film.

We were expecting the film to be long but we got more than we expected when there was a break in transmission some way into the film. It was green screen so no picture, the soundtrack had been replaced by loud white noise - but the subtitles were still running. This would never have happened with film. We entertained ourselves as best we could during the 50 minutes or so of unscheduled intermission - and hopefully An and I will at some point get to finish that game of Scrabble.

Cake

The film itself was … interesting. I could only give it a 5 though because it did drag on a bit and while I do understand that is a function of French cinema, I still think it would have benefitted from a good edit. And maybe one or two less shots of food.

Food is a good thing though - and there was plenty of it at the Markets - although our usual bread bakers were not there again this week. We had bread - but it's just not the same! And there was cake - as baked by Az for M's birthday. Despite the fact that it was incredibly healthy, it tasted fantastic - and my piece even had it's own personality!
