Thursday

There was new cat food tonight. Sooz almost put it back in the cupboard because she thought they were morning broth pouches but no, they weren't. Maggie and Tinka seemed to enjoy it very much. Maggie had lots of it - more than I've seen her have at the one sitting for a while. She has taken to going out in the morning before breakfast which is fine because I put her broth up the back for when she comes in … or it used to be fine until this morning when I found Tinka busily licking all the ''broth" off. She was having a wonderful time. We'll have to keep an eye on that. But for tonight Tinka's bowl hopping wasn't a problem. It was Maggie who was eating all the jelly from hers - and then Tinka's.

Sooz had lunch (Hainan Chicken) at the Q Centre today with Je. They were between centres - in Merrimac and Varsity Lakes - and the Q Centre was on their way - although that's not the way I would have gone (unless lunch was involved). It was good she did-it was a high point, I hope, after I dropped her off at 6:45am and then collected her this afternoon over an hour after she'd finished. (I bet she's looking forward to her other drivers returning.)

Moon over Latimers

Have I said how busy it is at work? It continues - and, as someone said yesterday, there's only 19 days until it's End of Month again! How does that happen?

The moon was magnificent over Latimers this evening. Sooz and I noticed it as we were driving down the lane towards home. The big question for me was whether Pearl had found the cookie I had left for her - and how long it took her to find it. I guess we'll never actually know that … but when we walked in, the cookie was gone.

It was another night of not going to The Big House but only because I'm a bit tired of numbers after a day on the accounts again. Hopefully it will ease off soon now that Ch is settling in.

When I mentioned to the guys that I was thinking about going to TBH tonight - one of them, Pa, asked if I had played "Casino Wars". He played it in Adelaide - and he says it has just about the best odds of any game in the Casino. It apparently plays like this - the dealer deals one card to you, one to him. The person with the highest card wins. Game over. If you tie on the first card, you go again - if it's a tie the second hand, the House wins. Hmmmm … we'll see.

Tinka came in and on to the couch this evening to watch the end of MasterChef with us. It was the first time this has happened for quite a while - and she seemed very comfortable … so comfortable she decided she would make it rain - doing the old cleaning behind her ears trick. And then she went off … into M's bed … and then came back again!
