Tuesday

The best laid plans of mice and men, as they say ... so instead of cabbage rolls for dinner tonight we made our way back to the Advancetown Hotel where they have a range of $10 specials. Sooz had the Steak, l had the Schnitzel. It wasn't bad ... but it wasn't cabbage rolls!

I wonder if Sooz is missing Mouse's cooking too. But at least Pearl is still enjoying it, thanks to the cooked dinners Mouse sent home for her. We have been rationing the packets so they should last a while longer. Hmm, 1 wonder if we could help her with it? (We don't eat much.)

Syl and An came out to Latimers today to pick up the Caravan to take it for a service before they take it out next week. They are planning to bring it back tomorrow.

Did I mention there was no Aqua yesterday - the instructor was not well. She had texted An and Sooz to let them know but it wasn't until later that Sooz remembered Em had said she wanted to go to Aqua as well; but the good news is that there was another class on after the girls' usual one so Em could have gone to that if she had the time.

I didn't realise how busy work would continue to be. We have Br until Friday lunchtime - then she's off to get ready for the Islands Cruise she leaves on on Saturday. She has been a great resource - and she's not finished yet.

Pearl's still good about getting up in the morning, coming for a walk with me before having some of her breakfast and then going back to bed.

The other furries are well but not in the same bed twice for the most part. Maggie had been sleeping on the cat bed in the living room. She moved down the back into the armchair the other day and stayed there most of the night. Poor thing, we think she is missing M - she's been crying during the night a couple of times and we think it' sb ecause she gets lonely. She went to come in with us a few nights ago but Tinka was already settled. As soon as Maggie saw Tinka, she left.

There is no shortage of mist in the valley these mornings and it' squire different each day. I think we might be about to start building up to frost too because some mornings the dew on the grass looks much "denser".
